McCray, Taylor named to All-New England team

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Senior running back Ricardo McCray (Middletown, R.I.) and senior left tackle Paul Taylor (Baltimore, Md.) have been named to the New England Football Writers' Association All-New England team that was announced on Tuesday.

McCray, the Northeast Conference Offensive Player of the Year, is one of two running backs listed, while Taylor is one of six offensive linemen honored. The All-New England team is comprised of players from all FBS and FCS schools in the region. Bryant and Sacred Heart led the NEC with two selections each, while Central Connecticut also had one.

One of the most explosive running backs in the region, McCray finished the regular season fifth in the country with 1,270 rushing yards and 115.5 rushing yards per game. He became the first Bryant running back to eclipse 1,000 yards in a single season since 2011 and his rushing total was the fifth-best in program history. He posted seven 100-yard games, scored nine touchdowns and finished 13th in the country with 147.45 all-purpose yards per game.

Taylor, a First Team All-NEC selection as well, was part of an offensive line that allowed just 12 sacks in 11 games this year. Bryant led the league in fewest sacks allowed and also finished 20th in the country with just 1.09 allowed per game. The protection allowed junior QB Dalton Easton (Miami, Fla.) to set single-season program records with 2,601 passing yards and 22 touchdown passes.
