Series History

Saturday's game will not only be the first meeting on the gridiron between the two schools, but it will also be the first meeting between the two schools period. Bryant has also never played a member of the Big Sky.

Notes and Notables for Week 2

Bryant's trip to Bozeman is the furthest trip the team has ever taken. The furthest west the team has traveled previously is Pittsburgh, Pa.

The trip is also only the second time the Bulldogs have flown to a game in program history.

Senior Dalton Easton (Miami, Fla.) enters the game with 4,831 passing yards and 46 touchdown passes in his career. He needs just 98 passing yards to pass Mike Westerhaus for third place on Bryant's all-time passing list and just 169 to reach 5,000 career passing yards. Easton would become just the third QB in school history to reach the milestone.

Senior WR Taylor Barthelette (East Longmeadow, Mass.) posted career highs in receptions (7), receiving yards (109) and touchdowns (3) last Saturday. He jumped into Bryant's all-time top 10 in receiving yards with 775. Barthelette needs just 225 more yards to become only the 7th player in school history to 1,000 career receiving yards.

When senior Patrick Kenney (Camarillo, Calif.) reached the 200-career tackle mark last week, it marked just the second time in school history the Bulldogs have had two active players with 200+ tackles. Kenney joins fellow senior Marquise Watson (Hillside, N.J.) as the two players that have reached the milestone. The first time it happened was last year when Watson and Aaron Dixon both reached the mark.

A bit about the Bobcats

Montana State is playing its 113th season of football this year and enters Saturday's game 0-1 after a loss to FBS member Idaho last Thursday. The Bobcats have been a perennial power in the FCS competing in the national playoffs in four of the last six years. MSU is also one of very few schools to win a national championship at each level of collegiate football. Last week at Idaho, transfer QB Tyler Bruggman completed 19-of-35 passes for 191 yards and a touchdown in his Bobcat debut. Senior RB Chad Newell rushed for 104 yards and a touchdown last season.
