Bulldogs welcome Robert Morris to town on Saturday for Senior Day

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University football team welcomes Robert Morris to Beirne Stadium on Saturday afternoon for the final home game of the regular season. Kickoff is set for 12:00 p.m. and the Bulldogs will honor their 29-member senior class prior to kickoff.

Series History

Bryant and Robert Morris will be meeting for the ninth time on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs hold a commanding 6-2 lead in the all-time series but have lost two of the last three. Last season, Bryant rallied from down 21-7 in the fourth quarter but missed a PAT to tie the game with just over two minutes remaining and lost 21-20. The Black and Gold are a perfect 4-0 in Smithfield, including a 27-21 victory over the then-24th-ranked Colonials in 2010, Bryant's first win over nationally ranked opponent in DI program history.

Notes and Notables for Week 10

Two of the program's most iconic records are in jeopardy of being broken this weekend.

Senior NT Marquise Watson (Hillside, N.J.) enters the game with 247 career tackles, just two shy of tying Jason Riffe's ('10) career record of 249. Prior to Watson, no other player in program history had even posted 230+ tackles in a career.

Watson got to this point thanks to 17 tackles over the last two games. He posted a season-high 10 stops in week 9 at Duquesne and leads all NEC linemen with 44 tackles.

Classmate Dalton Easton (Miami, Fla.) is also on the verge of history this weekend as he needs just 351 passing yards to tie Charlie Granatell's program record of 6,984. Easton, who broke Granatell's TD record two weeks ago, has thrown for 6,633 yards in 30 career games.

Easton could also break several other passing records by seasons end. He is 10 attempts shy of Granatell's record of 961, 27 completions shy of Grantell's record of 546 and 505 yards of total offense shy of Granatell's record of 6,865.

Senior WR Keenan Thompson (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) set the single-game record for touchdown receptions (4) last weekend and now leads the team with seven on the year. His seven TDs are the most by a receiver since Jordan Harris caught a program-record 15 in 2012.

With 10 tackles at Duquesne, freshman Jesse Nemerowicz (Hudson, Mass.) now has the most tackles by a rookie in a single season in program history with 65. He is averaging 8.1 tackles per game which ranks him fifth in the Northeast Conference.

A bit about the Colonials

Robert Morris comes to Smithfield following a 19-6 victory over Central Connecticut last weekend. The Colonials (2-7, 1-3 NEC) have struggled on offense this year (156 ypg) but have one of the best defenses in the league. Nine of their 19 points last week came from a safety and an interception return for a TD. RMU also has one of the most explosive return men in the country in Dante Thatcher (40.0 avg. return).
