SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University football team makes its first road trip of the season this weekend when it travels to Orono, Maine, to face the University of Maine on Saturday afternoon. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at Alfond Stadium.

Series History

• Bryant and Maine will be meeting for the sixth time this weekend.
• The Black Bears hold a 4-1 lead in the series and are a perfect 3-0 at home against the Bulldogs.

Bulldog Notes and Notables

• The Black and Gold won their fifth-straight season opener last week against Merrimack, scoring a DI program-record 49 points.
• Bryant trailed by 16 in the second half but used a 29-point fourth quarter to overcome the Warriors.
• The 555 yards of total offense Bryant accumulated is the second-most in DI program history.
• First-year starting QB Price Wilson (Marietta, Ga.) finished 21-of-38 for 378 yards and four touchdowns. He was 12-of-17 for 209 yards and three scores in the second half.
• The 378 passing yards are the second-most in a game in program history.
• Senior Matt Sewall (Portsmouth, R.I.) set career-highs in receptions (9), receiving yards (146) and all-purpose yards (232) last weekend. He also hauled in two touchdowns.
• Sophomore Richard Ukele (East Longmeadow, Mass.) tied a single-game program record with 17 tackles last weekend. He made just 14 total tackles during the entire 2016 season.
• Junior Thomas Costigan (Stamford, Conn.) had 11 tackles, 2.5 sacks, three tackles for a loss and a forced fumble last week. He now has 46 tackles, six sacks, 11 tackles for a loss and five forced fumbles over his last five games dating back to last year.

A bit about the Black Bears

• Maine opened its season last Thursday with a 24-23 loss to rival New Hampshire. The difference in the game was a missed PAT with just under five minutes to play in the fourth quarter.
• Redshirt-freshman QB Chris Ferguson finished 23-of-44 for 239 yards and three TDs in his first-career start.
• Sophomore running back Josh Mack registered his fourth-career 100-yard rushing game last week, posting 103 yards on 27 carries.
• Mack rushed for a career-high 151 yard and three touchdowns in last year's game against Bryant.
• The Wildcats gave up 383 yards of total offense but held UNH to just 3-of-15 on third down.
