Kennedy named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District I team

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University football senior Tom Kennedy (Farmingdale, N.Y.) has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District I first team, as announced Wednesday by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Kennedy is the first player in DI program history to earn Academic All-District honors and is now in the running for Academic All-America honors. An accounting major, Kennedy has posted a 3.52 GPA during his time at Bryant.

On the field, Kennedy has thrived in his return to the football program. He currently leads the Bulldogs in catches (48), receiving yards (763) and receiving touchdowns (8). Kennedy ranks fifth in the NEC in receptions per game, fourth in receiving yards per game and is tied for second in the league with 11 total touchdowns. He has posted four 100-yard receiving games and his 48 receptions are third in a single-season in program history.

Kennedy is one of 27 players selected to the District I team that includes student-athletes from FBS and FCS schools from Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont.
