Perry welcomes Alex Kurtz to coaching staff

SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- Bryant University football coach James Perry is excited to announce the addition of Alex Kurtz to the coaching staff for the upcoming 2018 season.

A native of Westport, Conn., Kurtz will serve as the quarterbacks coach.

"Alex did an amazing job for Boston College as a graduate assistant," Perry said. "His hard work and intelligence made him a huge success there and I am excited to have him working with our QBs."

Kurtz has spent the last four years at Boston College, first as a volunteer and the last three as an offensive graduate assistant. This past year, he was part of a BC coaching staff that led the Eagles to a 7-6 record an appearance in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl. Kurtz worked closely with offensive coordinator Scott Loeffler in coaching the quarterbacks in 2016 and 2017, while also helping with the wide receivers in 2015. He earned his masters degree in administrative studies while at BC.

Prior to his time at Boston College, Kurtz worked on the staff at Staples High School in Westport, Connecticut, for two years. He graduated from Vanderbilt University in 2011 with a degree in history and political science. While in Nashville, Kurtz was a student manager for the football team.
