NEC Football Social Media Day set for July 24

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Dillon Guthro (Newburyport, Mass.) and Thomas Costigan (Stamford, Conn.) are set to represent the Bryant University football team at Northeast Conference Football Social Media Day at MetLife Stadium on Tuesday, July 24.

Held inside the EY Coaches Club at MetLife Stadium, NEC Football Social Media day serves as the unofficial opening to the NEC football season. Coaches and players from all seven NEC football teams will be present and will take part in different social media shorts as well as a live program on NEC FrontRow.

An All-NEC First Team selection last fall, Guthro is back for his fifth and final season in Smithfield. He posted 38 tackles, four sacks and 6.5 tackles for a loss in 11 starts for the Black and Gold. Guthro missed all but one game in 2015 with an injury and has since returned to post 8.5 sacks and 17 tackles for a loss in 22 games the last two seasons.

Costigan enters 2018 as one of the premier players in the NEC. He posted 103 tackles, 11.5 sacks, 17 tackles for a loss and forced four fumbles on his way to NEC and ECAC Defensive Player of the Year and AP All-American honors in 2017. Costigan tied the program record for sacks in a single season finished fourth nationally in sacks per game.
