SMITHFIELD, R.I. – With the Bryant University football team set to open camp on August 6, BryantBulldogs.com breaks down the Black and Gold position by position.  

Wide Receivers

Returning: Tom Kennedy (Farmingdale, N.Y.), Jean Constant (Delray Beach, Fla.), Vincent Nisivoccia (Nutley, N.J.), Alex Rasmussen (Fallston, Md.), Jack Cappelletti (Milford, Mass.), Matthew Caruso (Brockton, Mass.), Jake Cusson (Westborough, Mass.), Josh Gebing (Cincinnati, Ohio), Andrew Hopgood (Warwick, R.I.), Shelton McNeal (Lakeland, Fla.), Andrew Parent (Franklin, Mass.), Tyrrell Washington (Sebastian, Fla.)Mike O'Connor (Fair Haven, N.J.)

Notes and Notables

  • Bryant lists 16 wide receivers on its roster heading into August camp. Of the 16, 12 are returners.
  • The Black and Gold return their top two receivers from a season ago and three of their top five in terms of yardage.
  • Last season, Bryant had three players with 45+ receptions for the first time in program history.
  • Kennedy returns for his final season after posting 57 receptions, 888 yards and nine touchdowns in his return to football last fall.
  • Kennedy was an All-NEC and All-New England selection last year and is a preseason All-NEC pick this fall.
  • He posted five 100-yard receiving games in 2017, the most by a Bryant WR since 2012.
  • Constant also earned All-NEC honors last fall after posting 48 catches for 594 yards and seven touchdowns.
  • Constant posted touchdown scores of 80, 67 and 59 last fall.
  • Nisivoccia emerged as Bryant's most reliable third down option last fall, converting first downs on eight third-down receptions.
  • Bryant's top two returning running backs also factored into the passing game as Isaac McCray (Middletown, R.I.) and Brenden Femiano (Northport, N.Y.) combined for 19 catches and 259 yards.

Fun Fact

Kennedy's 2017 numbers were the best by a receiver in program history not named Jordan Harris. His 57 receptions were third behind Harris, his 888 receiving yards were fourth and his nine touchdown catches were second.
