Costigan earns All-New England honors
SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University football senior linebacker Thomas Costigan (Stamford, Conn.) has been named to the 2018 New England Football Writers University Division All-New England team for the second-straight season.
The All-New England team is comprised of student-athletes from all of New England's FBS and FCS schools. Costigan is one four players from the Northeast Conference on the list. Bryant has now had 17 All-New England selections and at least one in each of its 11 years at the Division I level.
Costigan wrapped up his outstanding Bryant career by posting a single-season program record 109 tackles this fall. He averaged just under 10 tackles per game and also added 5.5 sacks, 14 tackles for a loss, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. Costigan finished his Black and Gold career with a program-record 285 tackles, and also finished second in sacks (26) and tackles for a loss (46.5). In addition, Costigan was named to the All-NEC First Team and a finalist for the Buck Buchanan Award last week.
