SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University football senior Thomas Costigan (Stamford, Conn.) finished 19th in voting for the 2018 STATS FCS Buck Buchanan Award.

Costigan was on seven ballots and received one first-place vote, two second-place votes, one third-place vote and three fifth-place votes, finishing with 19 points. Jeff Covitz, Bryant's only other Buchanan Award finalist at the DI level, also finished 19th back in 2014.

An All-NEC First Team and All-New England selection, Costigan wrapped up a historic career this fall with a single-season program record 109 tackles. He added 5.5 sacks, 14 tackles for a loss, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. Costigan made at least seven tackles in all 11 games and finished his four-year career with a program-record 285 tackles. He also finished second all-time in sacks and tackles for a loss, and graduates as the FCS active career leader in forced fumbles.
