NEC Football Social Media Day set for Wednesday

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Seniors Robert Brown (Palmetto Bay, Fla.) and Vincent Nisivoccia (Nutley, N.J.) and head coach Chris Merritt will represent the Bryant University football team at Northeast Conference Football Social Media Day on Wednesday, July 24 at MetLife Stadium.

Held inside the EY Coaches Club at MetLife Stadium, NEC Football Social Media Day serves as the unofficial opening to the NEC football season. Coaches and players from all nine NEC football teams will be present and will take part in different social media shorts as well as a live program that will air live on ESPN3 and NEC FrontRow.

Brown leads a list of veterans on the defensive side of the ball in 2019. Bryant's starting outside linebacker last fall, Brown posted 70 tackles, six tackles for a loss, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, an interception and a punt block. He returned one of the fumble recoveries 46 yards for a score in Bryant's win over eventual league champ Duquesne.

Nisivoccia, who grew up just six miles from MetLife Stadium, returns as one of the league's premier wide receivers and kick returners. He led the team in receptions (50), receiving yards (691) and all-purpose yards (1,353) last fall, finishing with seven total touchdowns. When he wasn't catching passes, Nisivoccia returned 22 kicks for 496 yards (22.5 avg.) and a TD. Nisivoccia has caught 79 passes for 1,072 yards and seven TDs over the last two seasons.

Wednesday's festivities will kick off at 11:00 a.m. on ESPN3 and NEC FrontRow. Each team will have a six-minute interview window during the live broadcast.
