Wright, Nisivoccia earn Preseason All-NEC honors

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Bryant University football seniors Tomas Wright (St. Augustine, Fla.) and Vincent Nisivoccia (Nutley, N.J.) were both selected to the Preseason All-Northeast Conference team that was unveiled on Wednesday morning during NEC Football Social Media Day.

Wright was named to the All-NEC First Team last fall after posting 12.5 sacks and 17.5 tackles for a loss. He set the Bryant single-season sack record and finished fifth nationally with 1.14 sacks per game in 2018. Wright also posted a career-high 45 tackles and forced three fumbles and recovered another.

Nisivoccia is one of the top returning wide receivers in the NEC after catching 50 passes for 691 yards and six touchdowns. He leads all returning NEC receivers in catches and touchdowns and is second in receiving yards. Nisivoccia also finished in the top five in the NEC in all-purpose yardage a season ago, averaging 123.0 yards per game.

In addition to the 27-member Preseason All-NEC team, the league also unveiled the preseason coaches poll. Defending league champ Duquesne is the unanimous favorite after receiving seven of the eight first-place votes. Bryant was picked to finish fifth in the eight-team league this fall.

The Bulldogs open camp on August 1 and open the 2019 season on Thursday, August 29 at Stony Brook.
