Football opens camp Thursday morning

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University football team begins preparations for the 2019 season on Thursday with the beginning of August Training Camp.

The Bulldogs return to campus on Wednesday, July 31, before opening camp on Aug. 1. Bryant will have just four short weeks to prepare for the 2019 opener on Aug. 29 at Stony Brook.

This will be the first August Training Camp for head coach Chris Merritt who was named the fourth head coach in program history on Dec. 20, 2018.

Merritt will welcome back 19 players that started at least four games on either offense or defense a season ago. Leading the way will be preseason All-Northeast Conference selections Vincent Nisivoccia (Nutley, N.J.) and Tomas Wright (St. Augustine, Fla.).

Bryant will hold practices each morning at 9:15 a.m. at Beirne Stadium and all practices are open to the public.

Season and single-game tickets are also on sale now. Fans can purchase their tickets at BryantBulldogs.com/Tickets.
