Football Season Preview: Running Backs

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University football team opens the 2019 season on Aug. 29 at Stony Brook. BryantBulldogs.com will preview the 2019 Bulldogs position-by-position over the next two weeks.

Running Backs

Returning: Daniel Adeboboye (Toronto, Ont.), Aaron Clark (Teaneck, N.J.), Alfred Dorbor (Pawtucket, R.I.), Isaac McCray (Middletown, R.I.), Victor Pascoe (Old Saybrook, Conn.)

Newcomers: Tyler Llewellyn (Fairfield, Conn.)

Position Coach: Michael Forman

Notes and Notables

  • Bryant returns five running backs and adds one to the group for 2019.
  • Dorbor is Bryant's leading returning rusher after posting 390 yards and seven touchdowns on 86 carries.
  • Dorbor only posted 10+ carries in three games last season, including a career-high 20 carries at Sacred Heart.
  • He enjoyed his best game of the year at Fordham, rushing for 116 yards and two scores on just 11 carries.
  • Adeboboye had a strong true freshman season, rushing for 257 yards and three scores on 52 carries.
  • McCray has battled injuries throughout his career but is primed for a big 2019. He rushed for 164 yards in just five games last year and is averaging 4.7 yards per carry for his career.      

Fun Fact

  • Bryant posted 21 rushing touchdowns last season, the seventh-most in a season in program history. It is only the third time in DI program history the Bulldogs have post 21+ rushing TDs in a season.    

The Bulldogs open the 2019 season on Thursday, August 29 at Stony Brook. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
