Adeboboye drafted by Toronto in CFL Draft

TORONTO, Ontario -- Bryant University football running back Daniel Adeboboye was drafted in the second round, 15th overall, by the Toronto Argos on Tuesday in the Canadian Football League (CFL) Draft.

Adeboboye, who's graduating in two weeks, becomes the first Bryant football player to be drafted in the CFL in program history. He joins Tom Costigan '17 as current Bulldog alums in the CFL. Costigan is currently a member of the Edmonton franchise.

Adeboboye enjoyed a standout career for the Black and Gold, appearing in 34 games and rushing for 1,816 yards and 16 touchdowns. He finished his career seventh all-time in rushing yards and rushing touchdowns, averaging 4.7 yards per carry and 53.4 yards per game.

After rushing for 257 yards and three scores as a freshman, Adeboboye broke out for 605 yards and five touchdowns as a sophomore. Adeboboye then averaged 111.3 yards per game in the pandemic-shortened spring of 2021, earning All-NEC First Team honors. He followed that up with 509 yards and a career-high six rushing touchdowns as a senior. 

Adeboboye was also active out of the backfield, catching 49 career passes for 264 yards and three scores. He finished his career with 2,095 all-purpose yards, averaging 61.6 yards per game. Adeboboye finished with 19 career touchdowns.
