Bryant hosts Campbell, celebrates seniors on Saturday

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University football team welcomes Big South foe Campbell to Beirne Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Kickoff is set for 2:00 p.m.

Saturday is also Family and Friends Weekend and Senior Day. The Bulldogs will honor 31 members of their program pregame.

Series History

  • Bryant and Campbell are meeting for the first time in program history.      

Bulldogs Notes and Notables

  • Bryant enters the week at 2-6 overall and 0-3 in Big South play following a 48-40 loss at Gardner-Webb last Saturday. 
  • Four of Bryant's six losses have been by one score or less and three have ended on the final play.  
  • Bryant enters the week ranked first in the league in scoring and second in the league in total offense. Bryant's 427 yards of total offense are currently the best mark in program history.
  • Joe Andreessen ranks third nationally with 11.3 tackles per game. He was added to the Buck Buchanan Award Watch List last week.
  • Andreessen enters Saturday sixth all-time with 230.0 tackles.  
  • Zevi Eckhaus has thrown for 300+ yards in each of the last three games and has seven career 300-yard passing games.
  • Eckhaus set single-game program records for passing yards (450) and total offense (480) last Saturday. 
  • Ryan Clark continues to lead the Big South with nine rushing touchdowns. He has rushed for a TD in three-straight games. 
  • Anthony Frederick enters the week 87 receiving yards shy of 1,500 for his career. 
  • Landon Ruggieri leads the team with 95.0 receiving yards per game and 760 total receiving yards.
  • Ruggieri has posted four 100-yard games this season, including a career-high 169 yards on a career-high 10 catches last Saturday.    

A bit about the Camels

  • Campbell enters Saturday at 4-4 overall and 2-1 in the Big South following a tough 45-38 loss at N.C. A&T. 
  • The Camels Hajj-Malik Williams is a dual threat QB that has rushed for 331 yards and five scores and thrown for 1,952 yards and 11 TDs.
  • Brevin Allen was named the Big South Preseason Defensive Player of the Year and has 4.5 sacks and 7.5 TFLs.
