Bryant hosts Stonehill, Saint Louis this weekend

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University field hockey team hosts a pair of games this weekend at the Track & Turf Complex. The Bulldogs will face Stonehill on Friday before wrapping up their weekend with Saint Louis on Sunday. 

Friday's game will be streamed on ESPN+, while Sunday will air on AETV.

Bryant vs. Stonehill

  • Bryant and Stonehill will be meeting as Division I opponents for the first time. 
  • They last met in 2007, a 1-0 victory for the Bulldogs. The teams entered the game tied in the standings in the NE-10. 

Bryant vs. Saint Louis

  • Bryant and Saint Louis are meeting for the first time in program history. 
  • The Bilikens open A-10 play on Friday at UMass.

Bulldog Notes and Notables

  • Bryant enters the weekend with a 2-4 overall record. The Bulldogs split games last weekend, falling to Brown (4-2) before rallying to defeat Holy Cross (4-3).
  • The Bulldogs have scored 11 goals through the first six games, the most since they scored 12 in the first six games of 2015. 
  • Olivia Clarke leads the Bulldogs with four goals and an assist on the year. She notched two goals and an assist in a five-point game with Holy Cross on Sunday.
  • Lotte Guitink had a big week as well for the Black and Gold, notching two goals and two assists in three games. 
  • Valerie van Dommelen is the reigning America East Rookie of the Week after recording a goal and an assist.  

Scouting the Skyhawks

  • Stonehill is in its first season of transition from DII to DI. They are members of the Northeast Conference.
  • The Skyhawks are 1-3 on the year and have received two goals each from Raegan Hickey and Makyala Strickulis.

Scouting the Bilikens

  • SLU is 1-5 on the year.
  • The Bilikens are led by Olivia French who has two goals.
