SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University field hockey team makes the short trip to Providence on Friday to face the Friars at Lennon Family Field. First touch is set for 3:00 p.m.

Friday's game will be streamed on FloSports and a cost will be associated.

Bulldog Notes and Notables

  • Bryant opened its season with wins over Lindenwood (3-1) and Saint Louis (3-2, shootout) last weekend. 
  • It marked the first time in DI program history and the first time since 2002 the Bulldogs opened the season 2-0.
  • Brittany Gouws converted a penalty stroke in each game and then scored the deciding goal in the penalty shootout on Sunday.
  • Zoe Bates also scored in both games, doubling her career goal total in the first weekend. 
  • Dieneke Hes was stellar between the pipes, recording 12 saves, a 1.29 GAA and an .800 save percentage. 
  • Hes tied Megan Hancock for the quickest to seven wins in DI program history (21 games).

  • The Friars are 0-2 following losses to Boston College and Maine opening weekend. 
  • Providence returns its leading scorer from a season ago in Ally DeCoste and preseason All-Big East selection Eleonore de Keyser.
