Bryant visits Quinnipiac on Wednesday

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University field hockey team travels to Hamden, Conn., on Wednesday to face Quinnipiac. First touch is set for 3:00 p.m. 

The two teams were scheduled to play Sunday but the game was postponed to due to severe thunderstorms.

Series History

• Bryant and Quinnipiac are meeting for the ninth time in program history but for the first time since 2015.
• The two programs competed as members of the Northeast Conference/MAAC from 2009-2015.
• Bryant won the first two meetings but the Bobcats have won each of the last six. 

Bulldog Notes and Notables

• Bryant is 3-2 on the year following a 3-1 victory over Merrimack on Sept. 8. 
• The Bulldogs are led by Brittany Gouws who has three goals, all game-winners. 
• Taryn Rauff recorded three points (1g, 1a) in the victory.
• Gouws and Rauff now each have 37 career points, tied for the fifth-most in DI program history.
• Abby Crowley filled in between the pipes for the Bulldogs against Merrimack, making three saves in her first appearance in goal of her career.   

A bit about Quinnipiac

• The Bobcats are 1-2 overall on the season. 
• Quinnipiac lost a pair of one-goal games to UNH and UMass before beating Dartmouth. 
• Emilia Massarelli and Stella Tegtmeier are tied for the team lead with seven points.
