THE SERIES
Bryant and Sacred Heart meet for the second time this season on Thursday night. The Bulldogs earned an 85-82 victory on New Years Eve. Bryant led throughout but the Pioneers had a chance to tie, missing an open three with 2.0 seconds to go in the game. The Pioneers, however, own a 19-8 lead in the series and the Bulldogs have just one win in Fairfield in the last seven years.

FIVE THINGS TO KNOW

  1. Bryant is now 11-1 in NEC play following Saturday's 62-61 victory at Mount St. Mary's. The Bulldogs have won eight-straight games, tying the 2012-13 team for the longest winning streak in DI program history.
  2. Charles Pride had a historic week for the Bulldogs, scoring 76 points and grabbing 22 rebounds in two games. He averaged 38.0 ppg and 11.0 rpg, earning Northeast Conference Player of the Week honors and Lou Henson Mid-Major National Player of the Week honors. The 76 points is the most for an NEC player in a two-game span in 25 years.
  3. Pride also surpassed the 900-point plateau on Saturday at Mount, entering Thursday with 922. He joins Alex Francis and Corey Maynard as the only three players in DI program history with 900+ points and 400+ rebounds.
  4. Peter Kiss returns to the Bryant lineup this week and remains third nationally with 22.8 ppg. Kiss has four 30-point games on the year, including a 32-point effort in Bryant's win over Sacred Heart earlier this year.
  5. Greg Calixte has started each of the last three games in the absence of Hall Elisias. Calixte has delivered, averaging 9.0 ppg and 9.0 rpg for the Black and Gold.
  6. (BONUS) Pride and Kiss have been named the Lou Henson National Player of the Week in consecutive weeks, marking the first time in the history of the award that one school has had teammates win the award in back-to-back weeks.
