Bryant, UMass Lowell meet Thursday night in Lowell

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's basketball team plays its final regular season road game on Thursday night when it heads to Lowell to face UMass Lowell. Tip is set for 6:30 p.m.

Bryant enters Thursday's game one game back of UMass Lowell for second place in the league standings.

THE SERIES
Bryant and UMass Lowell are meeting for the second time this season and for the 40th time overall. The River Hawks used an 11-2 run over the final 2:00 to snap a 75-75 tie and earn an 86-77 victory in the first meeting this year. UML has now won all three meetings as America East foes and owns a 20-19 edge in the all-time series.            

GOOD GRIEF, REEF
Sherif Gross-Bullock posted his 12th 20-point game of the season last Saturday against UMass Lowell, second-most in the America East. SGB also has a pair of 30+ point games, going for 41 and 35 against UMBC. He now has four games of 35+ points in his career, one shy of Peter Kiss' record of five. Gross-Bullock ranks fourth in the league in scoring with 18.7 ppg.

EASY O
Earl Timberlake has put together an impressive February, averaging 18.4 ppg, 9.7 rpg, 3.6 apg, 1.6 spg and 1.0 bpg in seven games. Timberlake had a streak of five-straight 20-point games snapped the last time out but did record a career-high of 15 rebounds at Vermont. 

FIVE MORE THINGS TO KNOW

  1. SGB enters Thursday averaging 20.0 ppg in America East play. He has scored 20+ points in seven of the 13 league games this season, including a 20-point outing against UMass Lowell 12 days ago.  
  2. Timberlake is averaging 15.1 ppg, 9.1 rpg and 4.0 apg on the season and 17.5 ppg and 9.3 rpg in America East play.     
  3. Daniel Rivera is averaging 13.5 ppg, 8.2 rpg and 2.4 bpg in league play. He led Bryant with 14 pts at Vermont, his 18th double-digit scoring effort of the season.     
  4. SGB and Timberlake both reached milestones at Vermont as Gross-Bullock scored his 1,000 point in the Black and Gold and Timberlake notched his 1,000 collegiate point. SGB is just the 9th player in DI program history to score 1,000 points.  
  5. Connor Withers has put up numbers all over the court this year, averaging 7.1 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 1.9 apg, 1.5 bpg and 1.5 spg. He posted five points, eight rebounds, three assists and four blocks the first game vs UMass Lowell.
