Bulldogs fall in OT to BU, 16-15
SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's lacrosse team dropped a heartbreaker on Saturday afternoon, falling to Boston University 16-15 in overtime at Beirne Stadium.
Bryant led 12-10 heading into the fourth quarter and by as much as three (14-11) in the fourth before the Terriers rallied back to take a 15-14 lead. Jack Lonsinger tied the game with 5:55 left and it remained tied until Thomas Niedringhaus scored the game-winner 2:10 into the extra session.
Lonsinger had a career day, finishing with seven goals, the most by a freshman in program history. Aidan Goltz added a hat trick and finished with five points, Kevin Groeninger had four points (1g, 4a) and Timmy Hackett posted four points (2g, 2a).

- Three-straight Terrier goals made it 8-6 but Tanner Alexander was able convert with 47 seconds left to get Bryant within one at the break.
- Bryant took hold of the game, outscoring BU 5-2. Cole Braun tied the game at 9-9 and then back-to-back goals from Groeninger and Lonsinger gave Bryant a 12-10 lead after three.
- Goals from Hackett and Goltz (man-up) gave Bryant a 14-11 lead with 9:27 left in the game.
- BU, however, scored three times in less than a minute to tie the game at 14-14.
- The Terriers made it 15-14 with 6:28 left but Lonsinger picked up another rebound and potted it with 5:55 left.
- In overtime, Niedringhaus took a feed on the left side the cage and fired it home to win it.
