Bryant dominates in statement win over ranked BU

BOSTON, MASS. – Kevin Groeninger tallied four goals and Jack Lonsinger posted five points as the Bryant Bulldogs would go on to have an emphatic win over No.15 ranked Boston University. This victory gives Bryant its first win over a ranked opponent since 2021 (No. 19 Saint Joseph's) and as well as their first 2-0 start to a season since 2011.

Aidan Goltz proved to be an excellent contributor on the offensive end; finishing with 4 assists. Mason Drouin put up multiple goals for the second game in a row and Patrick Walsh netted the second goal of his young career.

Nathan Laliberte dominated the X for Bryant winning 82% of the faceoffs while the defense converted on 20-25 clearing opportunities.

Key Moment

  • With 6:56 to go in the third Aidan Goltz assisted Jack Lonsinger for his second goal of the quarter to extend Bryant's lead to 9-2.             

How it Happened

  • After nearly six minutes of scoreless action, a Mason Drouin assist would lead to a Jack Lonsinger goal to put Bryant up 1-0.

  • Just over a minute later BU;'s Thomas Niedringhaus would knott things up at one a piece. 

  • Aidan Goltz would then link up with Kevin Groeninger and give the grad student his first score of the day.

  • The Bulldogs would then go on the offensive and proceed to go on a 3-0 run which included goals from Timmy Hackett, Kevin Groeninger, and Mason Drouin.

  • The Terriers' Tommy Bourque would get BU back on the board with a score. However the Bulldogs halt any further offense in the first half and lead 6-2 after the first 30 minutes of play.

  • Coming out of the half, Jack Lonsinger would connect on two straight goals to put Bryant up 8-2.

  • Patrick Walsh would net the second goal of his young career just shy of the four minute mark to extend Bryant's advantage to 9-2.

  • With six seconds remaining in the third, Kevin Groeninger would score his fourth goal of the game.

  • Bryant would take care of business in the fourth and halt any potential of a Terrier comeback and lift themselves to their first 2-0 start in 13 years.

  • Teagan Alexander collected 13 saves against the Terriers.
