Bryant to host Fairfield under the lights on Wednesday

SMITHFIELD, R.I. –  The Bryant University men's lacrosse team will host their second home game of the season this Wednesday when they take on Fairfield under the lights at Beirne Stadium. Faceoff is set for 7:00 p.m.

THE SERIES
The Stags lead the all-time Division I series 4-2. The last matchup between the two teams saw Bryant come away with a 14-12 victory in Fairfield.

SCOUTING THE STAGS
Fairfield comes into Wednesday 2-3 on the year and is currently riding a two game win streak after earning victories over Wagner and Providence. Graduate attackman Bryce Ford holds the team lead in goals for the season with 12. Senior Brayden Lynch leads the defense with 9 caused turnovers and sophomore Will Snyder has been the team's primary goaltender racking up 46 saves between the pipes.

BRYANT NOTES AND NOTABLES

  • Bryant enters its third week atop the NCAA in faceoff win percentage .716.

  • The Bulldogs also lead the nation in ground balls per game with 39.00.

  • Jack Lonsinger had a big game against Fairfield in the last meeting. The then freshman would finish with 5 points (4g, 1a). Lonsinger currently leads the team in goals this season with 12.

  • Bryant saw significant contributions from their underclassmen in their last game against Manhattan. Freshman Patrick Walsh and Dawson Rielly each recorded goals in the contest and Scott Einarson picked up 9 saves and  got the win in net after making his first career start.

  • Tanner Alexander had a standout performance on defense for the Black and Gold with 3 caused turnovers and 5 ground balls.

  • Johnny Hackett posted 7 points in the Bulldogs last game (3g, 4,a).
