Schulte sets pool record Sunday against Boston University

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Junior Ben Schulte (Tumon, Guam) won two events and set a pool record but the Bryant University men's swimming and diving team fell to Boston University, 127-78, on Sunday afternoon at the Chace Athletic Center Pool.

Prior to the meet, the Bulldogs honored their seven-member senior class. Bryant will now begin preparations for the 2017 MAAC Championships that will be held in Buffalo, N.Y., from February 8-11.

On a day in which the Terriers broke three pool records, Schulte claimed one for himself. Schulte shattered the old pool record in the 100 breast by over a second, winning the event with a time of 57.83. He also won the 200 IM.

Bryant also received strong performances from Robert Davis (Glastonbury, Conn.), George Sommerville (Pittsfield, Mass.), Boris Paraliticci (Saunderstown, R.I.), Benon Boyadjian (Middlebury, Conn.) and Colin Curtin (Wethersfield, Conn.). Davis won the 200 free, Sommerville and Paraliticci went 2-3 in the 50 free, Boyadjian was second in the 100 fly and Curtin finished second in the 100 back.
