As a junior: Put together another historic season in 2016-17 ... Started it by competing for Guam in the 2016 Rio Olympics ... Swam in the 100 breast, finishing fourth in his heat with a personal best time of 1:03.29 ... Also chosen as flag bearer for the opening ceremonies ... Earned 21 first-place finishes and 30 top-three finishes on the year ... Won three gold medals for the third-straight year at the MAAC Championships ... Won the 100 breast, 200 breast and 200 IM ... Qualified for NCAA 'B' Cut in the 100 breast ... Also helped 200 medley relay win the first relay gold medal in program history at the MAACs ... Helped 400 medley relay win a silver medal, the 400 free relay with a bronze and the 800 free relay win a bronze ... Named to the MAAC All-Academic Team.
As a sophomore: Matched his historic freshman season with another outstanding year in 2015-16 ... Earned 24 first-place finishes on the year ... Didn't take first place in just 10 events on the year ... Won three more gold medals at the MAAC Championships ... Finished first in the 100 breast (54.13), 200 breast (1:59.97) and 200 IM (1:49.01) ... Set school records in both breast events and also set a school record in the 100 free during a leg of the 400 free relay ... Member of 200 medley, 800 free, 400 medley and 400 free relay teams that set school records and took home medals at the MAAC Championships ... Won three events in the same meet on two occassions.
As a freshman: Put together one of the greatest seasons for a swimmer in program history in 2014-15 ... Won three gold medals at the MAAC Championships and was named the MAAC Outstanding Swimmer of the Meet ... Became first Bulldog to earn the honor ... Named MAAC Swimmer of the Week once and was a two-time ECAC Swimmer of the Week ... Won a total of 24 events on the year ... Set four individual school records and was a member of two school-record relay teams ... Won a gold in the 200 IM with a school-record time of 1:48.62, a gold in the 100 breast with a record time of 54.71 and a gold medal in the 200 breast with a record time of 2:01.03 ... Qualified for the NCAA "B" Cut in both the 200 IM and 100 breast ... Member of school-record 400 free and 400 medley relay teams ... Helped 400 free relay earn a bronze medal ... Competed at the AT&T U.S. Winter Nationals, finishing 33rd in both the 100 (55.42) and 200 (2:01.89) breast ... Won the 200 IM in every meet he swam it ... Won the 200 free in every meet but his first.
Before Bryant: Enjoyed an outstanding amateur career that included an appearance in the 2012 Olympics in London ... Competed for Guam in the 10k swim, finishing with a time of 2:03.35 ... Finished 14th at the FINA World Championships in 2011 ... Finished 15th at the FINA World Championships in 2013.
Personal: The son of Lourdes Aguon-Schulte and Greg Schulte, Ben Schulte was born on Dec. 22, 1995 ... Has two sisters, Valentina and Antonella.
