Men's Swimming Wins Seven Events at UMass Dual Meet

AMHERST, MA- The Bryant men's swimming and diving team took home seven event wins during their penultimate dual meet of the season on Saturday at Massachusetts. FuKang Wong led the way with three individual wins and a relay victory, while Matthew Mays and Griffin Lajoie had a pair of 1-2 finishes.

Bulldog Notes and Notables

  • FuKang Wong swept both breaststroke events, hitting the wall at 56.51 in the 100 and 2:09.90 in the 200. He also won the 200 IM (1:56.99) and was part of the winning 200 medley relay team.

  • Matthew Mays won both the 100 and 200 backstroke, with times of 51.12 and 1:52.35 respectively. Griffin Lajoie came second in both backstroke events, giving the Bulldogs a clean sweep of the top two places.

  • Mays was also a part of the 200 medley relay team with Wong, Eric Bebel, and Reese Stevenson. They took the win with a time of 1:34.44.

  • Conner Lofstrom also picked up an individual win, hitting the wall first in the 50 free. He did so with a time of 21.46.

  • Drew Arnold was Bryant's top diver on the men's side in both one meter and three meter dives. His 233.35 score in the one meter and 190.13 in the three meter were both good for second place overall.

The Bulldogs will return to action this Saturday for Senior Day. They will host Marist in the Chace Center pool at noon.
