Kuhar's run ends in Oracle ITA Masters quarters

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University men's tennis redshirt senior Matt Kuhar (Smithfield, R.I.) saw his run at the Oracle ITA Masters end in the quarterfinals on Friday afternoon in Malibu, California.

Kuhar defeated fourth-seeded Zeke Clark from Illinois, 6-1, 2-6, 6-3 to advance to the quarterfinals early on Friday. He then faced Laurens Verboven from the University of Southern California. Verboven, the sixth seed, defeated Kuhar, 6-3, 6-3.

"I couldn't be prouder of Matt. If this is what our season is going to look like, it's going to be a fun ride."

The rest of the Bulldogs open the fall season next weekend with the Brown Invitational. Bryant will also host Bentley on Friday, Sept. 28.
