Bulldogs fall to top-seeded New Orleans at Southland Championships

CORPUS CHRISTI, N.J. -- The eighth-seeded Bryant University men's tennis team fell to top-seeded New Orleans, 4-1, in the first round of the 2023 Southland Conference Men's Tennis Championships Thursday.

How it Happened

  • Bryant came out strong, winning the doubles point to take an early lead. 
  • Marcus Macaulay and Diego Serra Sparrow won 7-5 at No. 2, while Nick Lorenz and Leonardo Mileikowsky picked up a 6-4 win at No. 3.
  • New Orleans rebounded in singles, winning at 4, 6, 2 and 1.
  • Three of Bryant's four singles losses ended had a 6-4 score in the first set. 
  • Lorenz won a set on Thursday before his match went unfinished.
