Dawgs begin 2022 season at Georgia Classic Showcase

ATHENS, GA. - The Bryant University softball team will make their season debut against No. 19 Georgia and the Tar Heels of North Carolina in the annual Georgia Classic Showcase.

Series History

• The Bulldogs are 0-1 all-time against UGA, falling 8-0 in 2019. This will be the first time the Black and Gold and UNC will face off.

• 19 players are returning for the 2022 season, while six freshmen and one transfer will make their Bryant debut this season.
• Erica Barley returns after having a breakout offensive season, leading Bryant in RBIs with 15. She also recorded a career-high 17 hits and ten runs.
• Captain Aleix Hudson was top-five on the team in batting average (.316), slugging percentage (.500), on-base percentage (.403), hits (21), RBIs (9), and doubles with six last season.
• This year, Captain Jocelyn Boddington looks to lead the pitching rotation after picking up two wins and striking out 35 batters.

• Last season's College World Series runner-up Georgia heads into the tournament with a 10-2 record.
• UGA is fifth in the country in doubles with 24 and leads the Southeastern Conference.
• The Tar Heels begin this weekend's showcase with a 7-4 record. Skyler Brooks leads the team with 12 hits, and Kianna Jones has tallied 11 RBIs this year.
