Bulldogs Compete at Five Meets on Easter Weekend

SMITHFIELD, R.I.- The Bryant track and field teams took their talents to five separate meets over the weekend, setting four new school records in the process. The Bulldogs established new benchmarks in the men's 5000 meters, men's and women's pole vault, and women's 4x400 relay. Bryant athletes also placed among the top competitors in multiple other events across the weekend.

Bulldog Notes and Notables (Men)

  • Ryan Slaney set a new program record in the 5000 meters with a time of 14:50.40 at the Bryan Clay Invitational. His time was good for 42nd place out of 100 runners.

  • Mason Jones tied the Bryant record in the pole vault at the Merrimack Classic with a best mark of 4.45 meters. His jump was good for second place in the event.

  • Andrew Canale came home second in the 400 meters at the Pacific Coast Invite, laying down a time of 48.35 seconds.

  • Brett Cloutier placed seventh at the Clay Invitational in the shot put. His throw of 16.04 meters was also the second best in Bryant history.

  • Aidan Hickey placed 49th out of nearly 200 runners in the 800 meters at the Clay Invitational. His time of 1:50.84 is the second best in program history.

Bulldog Notes and Notables (Women)

  • Lois Warden broke her own program record in the pole vault, clearing 3.75 meters at the Pacific Coast Invitational. Her vault was good for P13 in the event.

  • Emma Garrity, Savannah Pineda, Nicole Xiarhos, and Grace Yost set a new school record in the 4x400 relays at the Mt. SAC Relays, setting a time of 3:50.73.

  • Jasmine Hope placed 14th out of 58 long jumpers at the Beach Invitational with a distance of 5.71 meters.

  • Anna Orticerio and Brooke Bock took home a 1-2 finish in the hammer throw at the Merrimack Classic. Orticerio came first with a throw of 45.08 meters, while Bock was the runner-up at 44.25 meters.
