Four Individual Champions Lead Bryant at New England Meet

BOSTON, Mass.- The Bryant track and field teams completed a banner week on Thursday and Friday at the NEICAAA New England Championships. The Bulldogs won four gold medals and had 17 All-New England performances en route to fifth and sixth-place overall finishes.

Nolan Hickey led the Bulldogs with a pair of medals, including a gold in the mile. Aidan Hickey and Ryan Slaney were also individual New England champions on the men's side, leading Bryant to a fifth-place team result. Kasey Thomas won gold for the women, along with a silver from Emma Green and a bronze from Jasmine Trott. Their efforts led the women to a sixth-place finish.

Coach Switzer's Comments: "I'm really proud of how our team competed the past two days. For both the men and the women to finish fifth and sixth in New England is an amazing milestone for our program. We talked a lot about how in order to compete in America East we have to make a statement in New Englands. The team really showed up both days. To watch champion after champion and school records go down was very exciting. A lot of history was made this week. The team is in a great spot and I'm really looking forward to how this carries us the rest of the year."
