Yost, Marshall Lead Bulldogs at UML

LOWELL, Mass.- Mike Marshall, Jr. and Grace Yost each took home event wins as the Bryant track and field teams competed this weekend at the George Davis Invitational at UMass Lowell. The Bulldogs had a host of other top finishes at the meet, including eight NEICAAA and ECAC meet qualifiers.

Marshall claimed another win in the high jump, clearing the 1.98 meter bar. Yost took first place in the 400 hurdles, crossing the line at 1:03.44.

Bulldog Notes and Notables

  • Both Marshall and Yost qualified for the New England and ECAC Championships with their performances this season. Marshall holds the school record in the high jump while Yost is second all-time in the hurdles.

  • Will Remkiewicz placed third in the 400 meters with a time of 49.44, good for an NEICAAA qualifying mark.

  • The Hickey twins each placed top five in the 800 meters, with Aidan taking third and Nolan finishing in fifth. Aidan's time of 1:52.97 qualifies him for both postseason meets.

  • The Bulldogs had a pair of top-three finishers in the 3000 meter steeplechase, as Nicholas Brancato and Myah Kamperides each placed third. Brancato's time of 9:22.12 qualifies him for the NEICAAA championships.

  • Jasmine Trott placed third in the 3000 meters with an ECAC qualifying time of 9:54.31. She holds Bryant's top times this year in the 3k, 5k, and 10k.

  • Both 4x100 teams placed top three with ECAC qualifying times. The men's team of Isaac Smith, Diogo Silva, Vincent Sivo, and Aidan Smith ran a 42.67, while the women's quartet of Ana Bertarelli, Jasmine Hope, Savannah Pineda, and Emma Green crossed the line at 46.71.

What's next: The Bulldogs will be sending three relay squads to the Penn Relays from Thursday to Saturday, while the rest of the team will compete at the Pre-Conference Invitational at UMass Amherst.
