Bryant faces Pitt Wednesday on ACCNX

PITTSBURGH, PA. - The Bryant University women's basketball team is set to face the Pittsburgh Panthers in a Wednesday morning matchup at the Petersen Events Center.

THE SERIES
This is the second time Bryant will face Pitt. The Bulldog fell to the Panthers 76-60 in 2016. Both teams are coming into the game with a 2-0 record. This is the second year in a row for the Black and Gold to face an ACC opponent.

SCOUTING THE PANTHERS
Pitt heads into Wednesday's matchup with a 2-0 record. The Panthers have defeated Coppin State and George Mason by scores of 56-41 and 53-45 this season. Amber Brown is the team's leading scorer with 11.5 ppg. 

WHAT TO KNOW

  • The Bulldogs are looking for their first victory over an ACC opponent in DI program history.
  • Alana Perkins is currently shooting 87.5% from deep and 76.9% from the field, which ranks eighth and 14th in the country, respectively.
  • Megan Bodziony has begun the season with back-to-back double-digit performances. Bodziony followed her career-high 16 points against Dartmouth with 13 points versus Emerson while going 3-5 from three.
  • Brianna Frongillo poured in a career-high 21 points in the Saturday victory against Emerson. The Black and Gold have now had consecutive 20+ points scorers, with Mariona Planes Fortuny posting 22 against Dartmouth.
  • Bryant has hit at least nine three-pointers in both games to start the year. The team is shooting 50% from beyond the arc.
