Bulldogs begin three-game homestand against UML

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - The Bryant University women's basketball team begins a three-game homestand on Sunday as they welcome UMass Lowell to the Chace Athletic Center for an afternoon conference matchup.

THE SERIES
The Bulldogs are 4-3 all-time against the River Hawks. Last season, the Black and Gold fell to UML 68-54 on the road. Bryant is 2-1 in Smithfield versus UML.

UML heads into Sunday's matchup with a 1-15 overall record and a conference record of 0-6. Ivory Finley and Jaini Edmonds lead the way averaging 9.0 ppg.

  • Nicole Gallagher continues to dominate America East play, averaging 13 ppg, 8.7 rebounds per game, and has tallied 14 total steals. She also has posted six 10+ scoring games in the last seven. Gallagher is 10 points away from being tenth all-time in scoring in DI program history.
  • Alana Perkins has found her range from three, making ten in her last two games and tying her career-high with six against NJIT.
  • Alejandra Ferreirós played a career-high 31 minutes against the Highlanders and hauled down 14 rebounds, and scored nine points, which were also career-bests.
  • Mariona Planes Fortuny has been an anchor on the defense, recording 18 blocks in AE play and 24 in the last ten games.
  • The Bulldogs have picked it up offensively and are averaging 65.6 ppg and are shooting 35.5% from deep. Both ranks are top-three in the America East.
