Bryant Bowling heads to ECC Championships this weekend

SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- The Bryant University women's bowling team will compete in the East Coast Conference (ECC) Championships this weekend at Coram Country Lanes in Coram, N.Y.

The three-day event begins Friday with qualifying matches and concludes on Sunday afternoon with the ECC Championship Mega Match. This weekend will be Bryant's first appearance at the ECC Championships.

Tournament Format

  • The ECC Championships begins Friday with qualifying matches. Friday's qualifying matches will be Baker total pinfall. 
  • Bryant is set to face Daeman, Kutztown, D'Youville, Mercyhurst and Saint Anselm. 
  • The 10 teams will then be seeded 1-10 and the double-elimination format will begin Friday night with the 8-9 and 7-10 matches.
  • The double-elimination portion of the tournament will be Baker best-of-seven. The first team to four points wins the match. 
  • The championship round will be a Mega Match. That includes a traditional game (one point) and a baker game (one point). If tied 1-1, the teams will play a baker best-of-seven.

Bryant Notes and Notables

  • The 2022-23 season is Bryant's first as a Division I bowling program. The Bulldogs are an associate member of the ECC. 
  • Bryant is 35-58 this season. 
  • Bryant has taken home three ECC Rookie of the Week honors and one ECC Bowler of the Week honor. 
  • Olivia Hillman has won a pair of rookie of the week honor and was also named the bowler of the week on March 10. 
  • Clark is the other Bulldog to take home a rookie of the week citation.
