How it Happened

Q1: The River Hawks took command early in the game, scoring four times in the opening period and limiting the Bulldogs to just one goal on nine shots. Chamberlaine Bell found the net on a free position chance for Bryant's lone first quarter score.

Q2: UML extended their lead with a pair of goals to open the second; the 6-1 lead was the largest for either team. Bryant responded with a 4-0 run courtesy of two goals each from Kaut and Weber, cutting the lead to one going into the half.

Q3: Defense held strong to start the third quarter, with neither team scoring for nearly six minutes. After a UML score, Bryant went on a quick tear to take the lead. Hanna Kumpf, Kenna Kaut, and Peyton Woodward all scored within 47 seconds to give the Bulldogs a 9-7 lead. Emily Oliver added another goal for Bryant just before the end of the period.

Q4: UML scored to open the fourth quarter, but goals by Amelia Piercy and Skylar Simmonds put the Bulldogs up three late in the game. The River Hawks scored once more but Bryant was able to hold serve and take the two point win.
