Bulldogs vs. Bears ends in a draw Wednesday night

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – After two periods of extra time, the Bryant University women's soccer team tied Brown University, 0-0, in Providence on Wednesday night.

The Bulldogs (1-8-1) rattled off 10 shots on the Bears (3-4-2), landing three on frame. Brown finished the night with 31 total shots, placing ten on goal.

The match was highly competitive with both teams combining for 26 fouls, including a yellow card from each team late in the match.

Defender Shea Williams (Londonderry, N.H.) led the attack for the Black and Gold, logging three shots in the match. Sophomores Hannah Crofut (East Amherst, N.Y.) and Haley Reddish (Natick, Mass.) each tallied a pair of attempts for the Bulldogs.

Senior goalie Kaylan Conrad (Avon, Conn.) returned in net for Bryant, recording her first shutout of the season, after preventing 10 of Brown's attempts.

The Bears were led on the offensive end by Charlotte Beach, with six shots and Jennifer Carusa, who finished with four, placing two on frame.

Keeper Christine Etzel played all 110 minutes, raking in three saves for the Bears.

The Bulldogs return to play on Friday, Oct. 2, when they host Sacred Heart in their first conference game of the season, beginning at 3 p.m.
