BRYANT SWIMMING PRIMED FOR URI INVITATIONAL; BULLDOGS LOOK TO DETHRONE DEFENDING CHAMPION RHODE ISLAND

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant men's and women's swimming team is set to compete this weekend in the 15th annual Harold Anderson Invitational hosted by the University of Rhode Island. The two-day event will take place at the Tootell Aquatic center in Kingston, R.I. and is set to begin Friday at 5 p.m. and continue on Saturday at 10:30 a.m.

The Bulldogs will be competing against URI, Providence College, Fairfield, Maine and Holy Cross and hope to end the Rams' three-year winning streak in the event.

Alex Kosenski

The men's squad is looking for junior Alex Kosenski (Lavalette, N.J.)  to continue his run of recent success. Kosenski is coming off a home meet versus Fairfield in which he led the Bulldogs with three first place finishes, including a pool record in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:46.23.

The women's team will look to sophomore Casey Ostrander (Yarmouthport, Mass.) and freshman Taylor DeBever (Denver, Colo.) to pace them. Ostrander is fresh off a first place finish in the 50-yard freestyle event in Bryant's most recent home meet, while DeBever looks to continue a strong freshman campaign in which she has already recorded the team's top time for the year in the 200- and 500-freestyle events.

Bryant women's swimming will then host URI on Dec. 11 while the men's side will return to action after the New Year on January 15 against Saint Francis (NY) and NJIT in a tri-meet.
