Women's tennis opens fall season Friday

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University women's tennis team opens its fall season this weekend at the Quinnipiac Invitational. The three-day tournament begins Friday morning at 10:00 a.m.

Bulldog Notes and Notables

  • Bryant is coming off a season in which it posted a 9-11 overall record and advanced to the Northeast Conference semifinals.
  • The Black and Gold return their entire roster from a season ago, while welcoming two freshmen.
  • Arianna Oropeza (Weston, Fla.) returns for her third season and is a combined 30-13 during her first two years.
  • Aleksi Gottlieb (Plantation, Fla.) and Megan Tan (Calgary, Alberta) also return and have combined for 36 victories over the last two years. The duo also makes up one of Bryant's top doubles teams.
  • Bryant also welcomes back a trio of NEC All-Rookie selections in Ada Boru (Istanbul, Turkey), Sarah Hickey (Toronto, Ont.) and Leanne Kendall (Lakeville, Mass.).
