Bulldogs Visit In-State Rival Rhode Island Tuesday Night

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I.- The Bryant women's volleyball team will continue its non-conference schedule this Tuesday with a matchup against in-state rival Rhode Island. The Bulldogs and Rams will be facing off for the first and only time in 2022 after Bryant took both meetings in 2021.

Bulldog Notes and Notables

  • Alysa Wright was named to the all-tournament team at the St. John's Kaiser Classic, posting 19 kills, eight blocks, and four aces in the three matches. Her 38 total blocks lead the America East.

  • Caroline Kennedy reached double-digit kills for the fourth time this season with ten against Southeastern Louisiana on Saturday. Her 1167 career kills rank third in Bryant's Division I history and tenth all-time in the program.

  • The Bulldogs totaled 47 kills against SLU, their seventh match with at least forty kills this season. They maintain the AEC lead with 483 this season.

Scouting the Rams

  • URI is 3-5 to start the 2022 season, including a 3-2 record at home. They went 13-19 (5-11 A-10) in 2021.

  • Player to Watch: Senior outside hitter Claire Wagner leads the Rams with 111 kills and 127.5 total points. She has two matches this year with 20+ kills.

  • Bryant defeated URI in both of their 2021 matchups, their first two wins against the Rams at any level. The Bulldogs swept the latter of the two meetings last year in Smithfield, with Caroline Kennedy and Aubrey Lapour combining for 27 kills in the match.
