VESTAL, N.Y.- The Bryant women's volleyball team fell to 2-2 in America East play after a 3-0 loss to Binghamton Friday night. The Bulldogs are now in third place in the conference standings with six matches to play.

Riley James led Bryant with nine kills, four blocks, two aces, and ten digs for 13 total points. Alysa Wright had three kills, three blocks, and three aces, and Aubrey Lapour added six kills off the bench.

Coach Garlacy's Comments: "Although we served tough and kept Binghamton out of system, our offense was inconsistent."

How it Happened

Set 1: Binghamton opened up an early 4-1 lead in Set 1, but Bryant came back to eventually tie the score at eight. The Bearcats responded with another big run to go up by four, but the Bulldogs were able to keep it close. A late 7-0 run by Binghamton would put the set out of reach for Bryant, as the Bearcats took the opener by eleven. Riley James had three kills, two digs, and an ace for the Bulldogs.

Set 2: James started off the second with a kill to give Bryant the early lead, but both teams went back and forth from there on out. 13 ties and five lead changes marked a competitive second set, with the Bulldogs holding a late 23-22 lead before Binghamton rattled off three straight points to end it. Aubrey Lapour had four kills in the set for Bryant.

Set 3: The Bulldogs scored the first two points of the third, but a 3-0 run gave the Bearcats the lead. Binghamton gradually pulled away to go up by five, but Bryant came back to tie the score at 22 and force a Bearcat timeout. Binghamton would score three of the final four points to win the set and the match. Haley O'Brien had three of her match-high six blocks in the final set.
