Bulldogs to battle Warriors on Wednesday

SMITHFIELD, R.I.- The Bryant women's volleyball team travels to North Andover on Wednesday where they will look to continue their long history of dominance against their former conference rival Merrimack. The Bulldogs last played the Warriors in 2022 where they defeated them in three sets.

Series History:

  • Bryant is undefeated against Merrimack at the Division I level and has an incredible 42-1 lifetime record against the Warriors. The Bulldogs have swept Merrimack in the previous seven matches and have not lost a set since 2007. The Black and Gold's only defeat to the Warriors came via a 3-0 sweep in 1999.

  • Bryant enters Wednesday ranked first in the NCAA in team aces (122), team assists (651), and team kills (703).

  • Carrina Barron ranks second in the NCAA for total aces with 30.

  • Aubrey Lapour's  202 kills is the second most by any player in Division I this season. She also is #2 in total points with 221.5.

  • Morgan Smith leads the America East Conference in hitting percentage at .327

  • Arianna Ugolini comes in at eighth in NCAA in total points with 208.5 and  and 15th in kills with 174.

Scouting the Warriors

  • Merrimack enters Wednesday 1-9 on the year and have dropped their last eight.

  • Junior, Julz Carlat leads the Warriors with 91 kills so far this season.

  • Sophomore, Marilyn Whitcavitch leads the team with 9 blocks so far in 2023.

  • Senior, Mia Ardila is Merrimack leader in assists with 264 this year. The next closest player has 6.

  • Senior Ashley Gajdzik and sophomore Cate Wright are tied for the team lead in aces this season with 11 each.
