HOW IT HAPPENED (at Merrimack)

  • Set 1- Bryant got off to a hot start, going on an 8-1 run to start the match thanks to kills from Lea Mackey and London Hunt as well as back-to-back aces from Arianna Ugolini. Merrimack would manage to battle back and make it a competitive set by getting to within a one-point margin on multiple occasions. The Bulldogs however would hold on and win the set 25-19 thanks to a late kill by Aubrey Lapour and a Morgan Smith ace.

  • Set 2- In the second set, it would be the Warriors who would get out to a commanding lead as they began on a 9-3 run. Despite getting into an early hole, Bryant would not falter and managed to work back to tie the set at 14 on a Miranda Jantzen kill. The two teams would then play incredibly close until 2 late kills by London Hunt helped Bryant pull away before Aubrey Lapour sealed the deal with a kill and won 25-22.

  • Set 3- In the deciding set, the Bulldogs came out firing and capitalized on the Warriors mistakes. Miranda Jantzen would have 4 kills and Melis Isik would put up 5 assists in the third as Bryant would go on to win the set by ten to complete the 3-0 sweep.
