HOW IT HAPPENED (at Central Connecticut)

  • Set 1- The Bulldogs and Devils opened up play with a tight first set that went back and forth throughout. Bryant would eventually find the advantage late and take a lead on back-to-back kills from Brookelyn Talmadge and win the set 25-23. Morgan Smith and Arianna Ugolini each had 5 kills in the set with Smith hitting 1.000.

  • Set 2-  Central Connecticut would not waver in the second set and continued to play Bryant tough. After Bryant took a 24-23 lead on a Talmadge kill, the Devils would tie the set on a Weronika Poczynek kill and eventually win 26-24. Talmadge totaled 6 kills in the set and Carolina Camacho had 6 digs.

  • Set 3- After falling behind 0-2, the Bulldogs would go on a 9-0 run to help fuel a strong third set. Grace Sorensen would come off the bench and tally 3 kills and London Hunt would post 3 blocks and also have the winning kill that made it 25-14.

  • Set 4- in the deciding set, Central Connecticut would settle back into their groove to challenge Bryant late and take a 20-17 lead on a Kaylin Hadley kill. The Bulldogs would battle back however and tie the score at 22 thanks to kills from Miranda Jantzen, Aubrey Lapour, and Brookelyn Talmadge. The Black and Gold would win the set by a final score of 25-22 following Josie Deluga's 2nd ace of the set.
