Binghamton beats Bryant 3-0

VESTAL, N.Y.– The Bryant women's volleyball team fell in three sets in the final match of their weekend road trip to Binghamton. Bryant is now 12-9 on the year and falls to 1-2 in conference play.

COACH GARLACY'S COMMENTS

"Our serve receive was excellent today but at times we struggled with execution.  The defense put us in a position to compete the first two sets.  In the third set inconsistently got the better of us."

HOW IT HAPPENED (at Binghamton)

  • Set 1- Bryant would fall behind 7-4 to open the match but would battle back and tie the score at 12 on a Melis Isik service ace and take the lead on an Aubrey Lapour kill. The two teams continued to play close until Binghamton closed it out on a Tsvetelina Ilieva kill to win 25-23. Aubrey Lapour and Arianna Ugolini each had 5 kills in the set and Carolina Camacho had 8 assists.

  • Set 2-  The Bulldogs and Bearcats continued to compete in second thn=anks to early kills from Arianna Ugolini, Brookelyn Talmadge, and Morgan Smith. The match would remain within two points until Ella Schabort landed a critical kill to make the score 21-18. Binghamton would finish off the set on a 5-2 run and win 25-20. Talmadge hit .750 in the third set with 3 kills.

  • Set 3- Bryant would remain in contention early but a surge from the Bearcats would put the set away as Binghamton would win 25-11 to complete the 3-0 sweep. Ugolini and Talmadge combined for 6 kills in the set and Morgan Smith posted a service ace.
