Volleyball wraps up road trip in New York this weekend

SMITHFIELD, R.I.- The Bryant women's volleyball team will conclude their three game road trip this weekend with matches against UAlbany on Friday and Binghamton on Sunday.

Bryant at UAlbany
Time: Friday, 7:00 PM

Location: Friday's match against UAlbany will be held in the Robison Gym at the Kahl Campus Center at Russell Sage College. (44 Academy Road, Albany, N.Y)

Series History:

  • The Bulldogs are 4-2 all-time against the Great Danes and are 1-0 when facing them on the road.

Bulldog Notes and Notables

  • Arianna Ugolini is tied for 4th in the NCAA for aces with 35 this season.

  • Morgan Smith cracks the NCAA's top 100 for hitting percentage at .358 (leads the America East)

  • Josie Deluga has posted 257 digs this year which ranks 4th in the conference.

  • Brookelyn Talmadge leads the team with 47 total blocks which is tied for 4th in the America East.

  • Aubrey Lapour's 235 kills this season is the 2nd best in the America East and 21st nationally.

Scouting the Danes

  • UAlbany enters Friday at 5-10 on the season and are 0-1 in conference play following a three set loss to NJIT.

  • Sophomore Shynelle Woroniuk leads the Danes with 140 kills this season.

  • Sophomore Kendall Harris ranks second in the America East conference with a .305 hitting percentage.

  • Freshman Gabriella Karman has posted a team leading 38 blocks in 2023.

  • The Danes defense is anchored by Junior Sthefany Carvalho and Senior Elisavest Papageorgiou who each have collected 140+ digs.

  • Bryant is 6-3 lifetime against the Bearcats and will be looking to pick up their first victory against them on the road. 

Scouting the Bearcats

  • Binghamton enters the weekend 7-8 on the season and are 1-0 in conference play. Before taking on Bryant, they will host the University of New Hampshire Friday night. 

  • Senior Tsvetelina Ilieva enters Friday as the new conference leader in kills with 238.

  • Sophomore Lottie Scully leads the Bearcats with 210 assists.

  • Sophomore Madison Konopka has posted a team high 167 digs.

  • Freshman Misa Dlouha and Graduate Student Anna Sprys each have put up 50+ block so far this year.
