COACH GARLACY'S COMMENTS

"We didn't perform as expected tonight, UNH played some awesome defense."

HOW IT HAPPENED (at UNH)

  • Set 1- New Hampshire started off the match on a scorching 5-1 run and put Bryant in an early hole. The Bulldogs would find their way back into the match however and managed to tie the score at seven and even extend a three point lead. UNH would even the score themselves, tying it up at 12 before going on a dominant offensive run to put the set out of reach. The Wildcats would win the opening set by a score of 25-19. Arianna Ugolini and Aubrey Lapour combined for 9 kills in the first.

  • Set 2- The second set saw the black and gold find an early rhythm before New Hampshire stormed back and got their lead to as high as 13. Bryant would attempt a late comeback but the deficit would be too much to overcome. UNH would win the second by a score of 25-17 on a Hannah Serbousek kill and put the Wildcats ahead 2-0. Ugolini notched another 4 kills in the second and Josie Deluga landed a service ace.

  • Set 3- In the final set, the Bulldogs and Wildcats would play incredibly close, exchanging leads early on. A string of kills from UNH's Marisa Armer and Alysa Wright would prove to be enough to break the set open as New Hampshire would go on to play stellar defense and stifle Bryant's offensive attack. A kill from Kelly Kaufmann would seal the match with a 25-13 UNH win and secure the 3-0 sweep. Melis Isik had a service ace in the final set and Lapour and Ugolini each had a pair of kills.
