BRYANT XC TRAVELS TO FRANKLIN PARK FOR NEW ENGLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS SATURDAY

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's and women's cross country teams will head to Franklin Park in Boston, Mass. this Saturday for the New England Championships. The women will kick-off the championships with a 5k race at 12:45 p.m., followed by the men's 8k at 1:30 p.m. The men's side finished 36th out of 47 teams in 2009 and the women's team finished 32nd out of 49 schools.

The Bulldogs will be running at Franklin Park for the second time this season, having already competed at the Codfish Bowl on Saturday, Sept. 25.

On the men's side, sophomore David Hurley (Ashway, R.I.) looks to continue improving, as the Rhode Island native finished the 8k course in just 26:59 two weeks ago.

Standout freshman Martha Reynolds (London, England) looks to continue her stellar season with another impressive performance at Franklin Park. Reynolds finished fifth overall in her second collegiate race, running the 5k course at the Codfish Bowl in just 19:34.

Bryant is one of the 56 colleges and universities that are members of the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA), which was organized in 1886. The race marks the halfway point for the Bulldogs as they continue to prepare for the Northeast Conference Championships on Oct. 30.
