Cross Country races rain at Brown Invite

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – In what could be its final tune-up for the Northeast Conference Championships, the Bryant University men's and women's cross country teams will compete in the Brown Invitational at Goddard Park in Providence, R.I., on Friday, Oct. 14.

The Bulldogs will look on several strong performances from last weekend's New England Championships. Bryant was led by a pair of underclassmen in the meet – sophomore's Jeffrey Dorosh (Naugatuck, Conn.) and Lauren Ganim (Trumbull, Conn.) – that took place at Franklin Park. Both set career-bests in the meet, with Dorosh topping his previous best by over a minute, finishing with a time of 27:09. Ganim finished 88th overall with a career-best 20:35 in leading the Bulldogs at the finish line for the first time in her career.

Last year at the Brown Invitational, the Black and Gold were led by senior Ryan Busby (Derry, N.H.) and sophomore Martha Reynolds (London, England). Finishing 25th overall in the men's race, Busby finished the course in 27:07.06, and Reynolds ran to a 17th-place finish with a time of 18:30.1.

The Bulldogs are scheduled to compete at Central Connecticut next Friday, Oct. 21, but could defer and use the week off to prepare for the NEC Championships on Oct. 29.
